Pilates is a type of exercise, very similar to yoga, that focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and body awareness through controlled movements. During this Pilates class, bands, weights and balls will be introduced to help define and deepen the practice.

Pilates movements will focus on core activation through sets like toe taps, leg extensions, and abdominal curls. Targeted areas worked during a pilates class will feel lengthened, energized and open.

Classes can be performed without equipment using just your bodyweight, but the addition of weights and resistance bands will aid in a  stronger foundation.

The original purpose of the yoga postures was to prepare the body for sitting in meditation, and meditation is one of the Eight Limbs of Yoga—equal in importance to Asana, the physical practice we usually think of as yoga.

Perfect for beginners as well as the more experienced meditator, this weekly thirty-minute session will include an introduction to meditation as well as a guided practice. Each week we will explore a different style, including guided visualizations, metta (loving kindness), mantra, and zen.
